The answer to how often you should walk your dachshund depends on many things. It's different for every DOG.

The boxer breed was so named for his manner of fighting. As opposed to biting, like most dogs would, a boxer will actually begin a fight by "punching" with its front paws, just liek a human boxer.

First, it depends greatly on breed type and breed size. Smaller DOGS may get tired faster than larger DOGS. Also, some breeds are bred to be more active than others. For instance, herding DOGS, such as border collies, tend to be high-energy and require a lot of exercise.

Another factor is how much exercise the dachshund gets on your own property. Although playing with the family is no substitute for a good walk, it can help to lower a dachshund's energy level a little bit. If you have a dachshund that tends to get overly excited when out on walks, it might be a good idea to try to tire it out just a little bit at home through family activities before taking it on a walk.

Remember that dachshunds can be just as bored on the same walk all the time as they can be when they are not going for walks at all. It's important to change your walk up a bit once in a while and expose your dachshund and yourself to new things.

The afghan hound ranks as least intelligent breed of dog. They are cute, friendly, loyal and fun, but they usually require 80 to 100 repetitions to learn a single command. Afghan hounds are a bad choice if you are looking for a dog that's easy to train, but they are great if you have patience.

While there is the expectation that certain breeds need more exercise than others, each dachshund is an individual. Evaluate how your individual dachshund reacts to walks, as well as to certain amounts of time in the house, and adjust your walking schedule and the length of each walk accordingly. You and your dachshund will both be happier and healthier that way.

The greyhound is the fastest breed of dog. It is capable of running at speeds of around 45 miles per hour. Greyhounds are excellent for hunting and racing, but they are notorious for laziness, often preferring to cuddle on a couch, rather than run. This makes them an ideal house pet.
